Isabelle Renard’s career includes an experience of 20 years as an engineer and project manager in major IT companies. She leads the VAUGHAN Avocats IP/IT practice group which covers an area that is at the crossroads of law and technology.

The practice has experience in advising service providers including some of the main actors of the industry in France and abroad, as well as purchasers of IT services. The team provides a wide range of legal services relating to the protection and litigation of intellectual property rights, including:

• Advising, negotiating and drafting commercial, industrial or IT contracts in the procurement and delivery of IT systems and services within a French and international context
• Outsourcing operations (contractual aspects, risk analysis, reversibility…)
• Intellectual property rights (management, protection and defence of software, know–how, patents, copyrights, use and distribution of free software, profit–sharing of employees in their creations in both the pubic and private sectors)
• Organization of the technico-legal protection of intangible assets
• IT safety and data protection: legal framework and new rules of compliance, methods and procedures for the drafting of prevention policies against the capture and transfer of proprietary information, risk assessment for companies, executives and employees
• Dematerialisation of exchanges and digital filing; technico-legal analysis of structures put into place for dematerialised operations – electronic safe, archive of on-line sales, electronic invoicing, associated contracts and their evidential value
• Privacy policies regarding employees and customers – analysis of personal data processing and enforcement of legal obligations
• Internet and new media issues
